Peace Lutheran Church has begun a new ministry with people who have developmental disabilities. We are a host site for Rejoicing Spirits, a model for spiritual inclusion which has been developed by folks at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Exton, PA.

The Rejoicing Spirits ministry reaches out to enrich the spiritual lives of people who have developmental disabilities along with their families, friends, care providers, and other supportive community members.  God’s message of love is shared through a meaningful and adapted Christian worship service and fellowship time.  Individuals are free to be themselves while actively participating as contributing members in an inclusive faith community.  The service includes lots of music, joyous singing, prayer, Scripture, and meaningful messages.
Rejoicing Spirits can help meet people’s spiritual needs in several ways:

• Serving as a stepping stone for those who want to take the first step into a faith community.
• Offering complementary worship and fellowship opportunities for those who already belong to a faith community.
• Providing an inclusive faith community that may fully meet current needs and desires.

The next Rejoicing Spirits worship service and fellowship will be held at Peace on Sunday May 25, 2008 at 4:00 PM.

We invite anyone who is interested in worshipping God in a new, exciting, and inclusive way to come and worship with us.
